Description

  • Own major in-app features from implementation through delivery in close collaboration with design and product teams.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical decisions across the product.
  • Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through collaboration and feedback.
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with Android components and building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Self-driven mindset with a desire to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
  • Preferred: Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Preferred: Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
