Description

  • Own major in-app features and deliver high-quality releases in collaboration with design.
  • Help shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical decisions.
  • Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code review and collaboration.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests.
  • Strong self-direction to improve the app and codebase beyond the written spec.
  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Comfort with continuous feedback from leaders.
  • Preferred experience building, maintaining, or contributing to Android open source projects.
  • Preferred experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
