Description

  • Own major in-app features and deliver high-quality user experiences in collaboration with the design team.
  • Shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical decisions across the product.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code review and collaboration.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected technical challenges as they arise.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds to support QA testing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to improve Android UI/UX and go beyond the written specification.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests effectively.
  • Rock-solid experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Preferred: experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Preferred: experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
