Description

  • Assess the current architecture and build a realistic modernization roadmap that delivers value without disrupting existing clients.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team while setting technical standards and a strong ownership culture around quality.
  • Introduce automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability to improve release speed and reliability.
  • Identify and lead AI initiatives across both the development process and the product, including internal workflow improvements and customer-facing features.
  • Design systems that separate business logic from legacy components and support multi-tenant SaaS delivery.
  • Develop strategies for gradual client migration, automated deployment, and reduced per-client maintenance overhead.
  • Work closely with product, operations, and professional services to align technical decisions with business priorities.
  • Evaluate modern technologies and apply incremental migration patterns to safely evolve a mature production platform.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a tech lead or senior engineering leader modernizing legacy systems or leading platform migrations in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of legacy-to-modern migration patterns such as strangler fig, API layering, and incremental decoupling.
  • Strong backend architecture experience with modern stacks such as .NET/C#, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience with SQL Server and relational database design, migration, and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience introducing DevOps and CI/CD into teams or codebases that did not previously have them.
  • Practical AI experience using AI tools in development workflows or building AI-powered features.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and spoken.
  • Available during Spanish business hours (CET/CEST) with required schedule overlap.
  • Proactive, with a track record of spotting issues early, proposing solutions, and following through.
  • Catalan language skills (preferred).
  • Experience with PHP/Laravel (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Visual Basic 6.0 (VB6) or similar legacy desktop technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Remote Desktop Services (RDP) infrastructure (preferred).
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and migrating on-premise clients to cloud-hosted models (preferred).
  • Background in sports, fitness, or facility management (preferred).
  • Experience running on-premise to cloud migration programs for a large client base (preferred).
