Description

  • Own hardware from conceptual design through high-volume production, deployment, and operation.
  • Rapidly iterate on designs, analysis, and testing to inform system trades and product direction.
  • Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
  • Establish an efficient product lifecycle from supply chain through final integration, balancing cost, complexity, and quality.
  • Work with partner teams to design and realize an efficient in-house production line.
  • Perform environmental and performance testing to validate analysis and demonstrate compliance with design criteria.
  • Demonstrate ownership of product outcomes throughout development and production.
  • Develop novel manufacturing procedures with partner teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing; internship experience is applicable.
  • Experience with CAD and/or finite element analysis (FEA) software packages.
  • Experience designing and testing RF or antenna hardware (preferred).
  • Experience with fast-paced hardware development for high-reliability applications (preferred).
  • Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout and PCBA mechanical design (preferred).
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and surface treatments for mechanical components (preferred).
  • Ability to assess risk and make design and development decisions without all available data (preferred).
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, problems, and solutions clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission-critical deadlines.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
