Description

  • Read, interpret, and comment on engineering documents such as P&IDs, GAs, process design guidelines, return of experience documents, and engineering best practice guides.
  • Interpret, comment on, and follow contract and customer specifications.
  • Perform calculations and select appropriate instrumentation for water treatment facilities, including supporting documentation such as instrument lists, termination drawings, and datasheets.
  • Manage project budget, scope, and schedule, and proactively report risks and opportunities to project teams.
  • Design complex low-voltage industrial control systems in compliance with UL and CEC, including single-line diagrams, load lists, I/O lists, panel designs, schematics, and network architectures.
  • Support project bids and provide technical guidance to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate in and lead cross-functional project discussions and client meetings.
  • Develop and follow procedures and standards while extrapolating new concepts from established standards.
  • Learn equipment and process requirements related to Veolia WTS products and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant or related experience.
  • Experience designing complex low-voltage industrial control systems in compliance with UL and CEC.
  • Experience designing control panels and selecting equipment for Class 1 Div 2 areas.
  • Experience with complex industrial control system design.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including coordinating, reporting, documentation, and presentations.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic water chemistry is preferred.
  • Experience with control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), HMI, and SCADA design and programming is preferred.
  • Understanding of low-voltage power distribution system design is preferred.
  • Basic technical knowledge in the field of industrial control systems is preferred.
  • Strong focus on customer relationships and balancing customer and internal team needs is preferred.
