Description

  • Run demos and scope proof-of-concepts alongside account executives from first technical call through closed-won.
  • Translate customer problems into Soda solutions and explain Soda capabilities in the customer’s language.
  • Build custom demos, sample pipelines, and PoC environments that demonstrate value.
  • Own technical, product, and security responses for RFPs and RFIs.
  • Support customers through evaluation, purchasing, and implementation.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for Data Engineers, Heads of Data Platform, and Chief Data Officers.
  • Share field feedback with product and engineering on what is working, what is not, and why.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites, offsites, and conferences.
  • Work across the full sales cycle in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Collaborate directly with AEs, the CRO, and the product team on enterprise accounts.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Undergraduate degree or higher in a technical field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Fluency in Python, including the ability to read, write, and debug code in front of a customer.
  • Experience running demos and supporting proof-of-concepts in customer environments.
  • Strong customer communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and calmly.
  • Builder mentality with a process-oriented approach and examples of streamlining or automating repetitive work.
  • High horsepower with strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping balls.
  • A humble, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn whatever is needed to help the team and customers succeed.
  • Based in the US.
  • Preferred: top university degree.
  • Preferred: experience selling to data teams such as Data Engineers, Data Platform teams, or CDOs.
  • Preferred: familiarity with data quality, governance, or observability tools.
  • Preferred: fluency with the data stack, including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, and Kafka.
  • Preferred: experience at a high-growth Series A-C startup.
  • Preferred: experience building or presenting custom demos.
  • Preferred: experience working remotely in a high-growth environment.
