Description

  • Design, develop, and implement core application features for the platform.
  • Lead tasking sessions for new features and provide estimates for SOW and innovation projects.
  • Analyze complex and escalated technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Evaluate requirements and propose high-level designs and technical solutions throughout development.
  • Ensure solutions are interoperable, performant, and maintainable.
  • Lead and support distributed dQM processing, CQL execution, validation, and clinical reasoning.
  • Serve as a technical lead for customer-facing implementations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to refine product requirements, design, implement, and test system components.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior software developers.
  • Establish and maintain high coding standards and drive software development best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in the software development lifecycle, ideally in healthcare technology, including 4+ years in senior or staff-level roles.
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience developing software applications with strong unit and functional testing practices.
  • Expertise in backend development using Java and Spring Boot, with hands-on microservices and distributed systems experience.
  • Experience designing and developing APIs, preferably RESTful and FHIR-based.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and streaming systems such as Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Helm.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Experience building complex healthcare systems; familiarity with HL7 and FHIR preferred.
  • Exposure to Digital Quality Measures (dQM), Clinical Quality Language (CQL), and terminology standards such as SNOMED and LOINC is an asset.
  • Proven ability to drive technical decisions, lead projects, and mentor development teams.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear language for non-technical stakeholders and customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.
