Description

  • Design, build, and maintain robust full stack features across backend and frontend layers with end-to-end ownership.
  • Work primarily with Ruby on Rails on the backend, with equivalent experience in Python, Rust, or Go considered.
  • Build and maintain frontend interfaces using modern frameworks and languages to support a high-quality user experience.
  • Actively use AI tools and techniques throughout the engineering workflow for code generation, review, problem-solving, and productivity.
  • Bring a product mindset to technical work by understanding user needs, business context, and trade-offs behind decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and product teammates to deliver well-scoped, well-built, and well-tested features.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering standards to improve team quality.
  • Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability concerns proactively.
  • Take initiative in ambiguous situations, propose solutions, drive decisions forward, and deliver with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a full stack or backend-heavy role.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails experience in a production environment, or equivalent depth in Python, Rust, or Go.
  • 2+ years of experience with frontend languages or frameworks such as React, Vue, TypeScript, or JavaScript in production-grade applications.
  • Demonstrable AI fluency with at least 1 year of meaningful daily use of tools such as Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Claude.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, database modelling, and system performance across the full stack.
  • Experience writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code with strong documentation standards.
  • 2+ years of experience in product-driven engineering environments with a track record of thinking beyond the ticket and balancing user and business needs.
  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, self-direction, prioritization, and ownership.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in fast-moving teams where priorities change and adaptability is important.
  • Experience with Rust or Go in performance-critical or systems-level contexts (preferred).
  • Exposure to AI-powered product features beyond AI-assisted coding (preferred).
  • Experience leading technical scoping or end-to-end delivery of a significant project (preferred).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, or DevOps practices such as AWS, GCP, Docker, or CI/CD (preferred).
  • Experience in early-stage or high-growth product environments where engineering and product work closely together (preferred).
