Description

  • Prepare and lodge accurate BAS and IAS statements in compliance with ATO requirements.
  • Reconcile GST and payroll liabilities and maintain compliance with Australian regulations.
  • Maintain full sets of accounts and accurate financial records across a portfolio of clients.
  • Manage cloud accounting workflows using tools such as Xero and Dext, including journals, fixed assets, and reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for clients.
  • Provide payroll support and day-to-day accounting guidance to Australian SME owners.
  • Act as the primary client contact for accounting matters and manage the client relationship end to end.
  • Collaborate with bookkeeping and tax teams to ensure accurate transaction recording and ledger integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant within Australian accounting.
  • Strong experience in client relationship management.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS statements.
  • Knowledge of GST, payroll liabilities, and ATO compliance requirements.
  • Experience maintaining full sets of accounts and financial records.
  • Experience with cloud accounting systems such as Xero and Dext.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and provide clear, actionable financial insights.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, humility, and structured thinking in recent roles.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, tech-enabled services environment with data-driven decision-making.
  • Curious and open to AI-enabled tools and applications in accounting.
