Description

  • Architect and build a unified test automation framework for iOS, Android, and web clients.
  • Own the regression test-generation strategy, including identifying high-value scenarios from manual suites, user flows, and product requirements.
  • Implement and maintain UI, API, and integration test suites.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to provide reliable build feedback.
  • Establish test data management, environment provisioning, and reporting practices for scalable automation.
  • Lead test-flakiness triage and reduction efforts and define reliability standards.
  • Define and report quality metrics, including coverage, pass rate, flake rate, and execution time.
  • Partner with product and engineering leads to translate specifications and acceptance criteria into automated tests.
  • Mentor engineers on testability best practices and set technical direction for automation.
  • Evaluate and evolve automation tooling and framework architecture, including build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or Software Engineer with a strong testing focus.
  • Experience owning end-to-end automation architecture and building mobile and web test frameworks from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with mobile automation tools such as Maestro, XCUITest, Espresso, or equivalent; deep XCUITest expertise is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with web automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium/WebDriver, or equivalent.
  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Swift, or Python.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and diagnosing pipeline-level flakiness and failures.
  • Knowledge of test-design techniques, including equivalence partitioning, boundary analysis, and risk-based prioritization.
  • Experience with API testing, including REST and contract testing.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows such as pull requests and branching strategies.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing testing practices; technical lead or automation architect experience is preferred.
  • Experience with cross-platform test strategies, performance or accessibility testing, Appium, cloud device farms, or scaling automation in a fast-moving organization is preferred.
  • Unity or Unreal experience is preferred.
