Description

  • Lead, coach, and grow a platform engineering team focused on infrastructure, DevOps, and developer experience.
  • Define the technical direction for platform architecture and drive execution of the platform roadmap.
  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term investments in tooling, infrastructure, and reliability.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational tooling in a regulated environment.
  • Improve developer productivity by reducing friction across onboarding, CI/CD, and local-to-production workflows.
  • Ensure systems remain secure, scalable, observable, and resilient as the company grows.
  • Own incident management practices, postmortems, and the sustainability of the on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate closely with product engineering, security, and compliance teams.
  • Represent platform work by connecting technical initiatives to business and customer impact.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 3 years leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical background in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, Datadog, PostgreSQL, CI/CD tools, and GitOps.
  • Experience operating production systems and supporting on-call rotations.
  • Ability to set technical direction across both developer experience and infrastructure.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a strong focus on business impact.
  • Experience in fintech or other regulated environments is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Staff or Senior Engineer before moving into management is preferred.
  • Interest in Bitcoin and motivation to learn more is preferred.
  • English fluency is required.

  • Base salary range of CAD 209,000 to CAD 253,000.

  • Parental leave top-up of up to 100% of salary for 18 weeks.
