Description

  • Own the Guardener, hardened GitHub Actions, Chainguard Agent Skills, and emerging microVM-based products from roadmap through rollout and iteration.
  • Hire, lead, and grow a small team of engineers while removing blockers and enabling effective execution.
  • Review designs and pull requests, prototype solutions, and remain technically involved in implementation.
  • Partner with Product to establish priorities, manage tradeoffs, and deliver against clear deadlines.
  • Navigate ambiguous problems, take initiative, and develop practical paths forward.
  • Own the quality and reliability of shipped products.
  • Engage with customers and incorporate their feedback into product roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing engineers and a sustained interest in team leadership and development.
  • Track record of shipping products or major features and owning their outcomes.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to read code, review designs, and evaluate architecture and tradeoffs.
  • Proficiency in Go or the ability to ramp up quickly.
  • Experience building CI/CD systems, developer tooling, or product-facing platforms.
  • Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with AI tooling and enthusiasm for applying it to customer problems.
  • Comfort working autonomously in ambiguous environments with a bias toward iterative delivery.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including close work with Product and customers.

  • Base salary range of $229,000–$258,000 USD.
