Description

  • Contribute to features across the full development lifecycle, from design through shipping.
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend services that power customer-facing products.
  • Work with large datasets and high-performance databases to ensure fast, reliable data access.
  • Improve code quality through testing, refactoring, and participating in code reviews.
  • Pair-program and collaborate with teammates and mentors to solve problems and deliver features.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support production systems and workflows.
  • Gradually take on increasing ownership of components and features as you grow.

Requirements

  • Early-career / junior engineer with strong potential, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Ruby on Rails; alternatively, demonstrated proficiency in Python or similar languages with willingness to cross-train in Ruby.
  • Strong grasp of algorithms, RESTful systems, and API design.
  • Experience with data analysis and data pipelining is ideal.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with ClickHouse or other OLAP databases.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with MongoDB or other document stores.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Sidekiq or other asynchronous task runners.
  • Portfolio of meaningful GitHub contributions, open-source work, or personal projects that demonstrate you can build working software.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, proactive problem-solving skills, and eagerness to ask questions and learn.
