Description

  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, quality polish, and release.
  • Own full feature delivery from architecture brainstorming through backend implementation and customer release.
  • Optimize backend endpoints and database queries that operate on billions of rows of data.
  • Profile Ruby code and improve performance using ClickHouse query insights.
  • Perform code reviews and suggest improvements to tools and engineering processes.
  • Build robust backend systems for products such as SDK Insights.
  • Understand mobile SDK teardown as part of supporting product development.
  • Collaborate with a distributed engineering team, including pairing over Zoom.
  • Contribute to product decisions in a lean, flat organization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with lesser experience considered if supported by meaningful GitHub contributions and coding samples.
  • Strong foundation in programming, algorithms, and software application design.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful systems and good API design principles.
  • Understanding of cloud environments and ideally some exposure to AWS.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, or Python with willingness to learn Ruby on Rails.
  • Nice-to-have experience with ClickHouse, MongoDB, Sidekiq, TypeScript, and React.js.
