Description

  • Manage a team of backend, frontend, and applied AI and automation engineers.
  • Own the technical vision for core support tools, including custom and SaaS systems, and their integrations.
  • Build and iterate on support products that improve fan experience and maintain platform operational excellence.
  • Perform code and architecture reviews and provide technical and design feedback.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, hold one-on-ones, and support direct reports’ career development.
  • Partner with technical and product leaders to define the team’s vision, roadmap, and priorities.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement new vendors or make build-versus-buy decisions with the team.
  • Contribute hands-on to feature delivery and platform iteration when needed.
  • Communicate technical and product decisions, unblock work, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders.
  • Participate actively in recruiting and help grow the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a role focused primarily on writing code.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to ship industry-leading UX for high-stakes customer experiences.
  • Preferred experience contributing to end-to-end customer support software at a marketplace product company.
  • Experience building and leading lean, productive, motivated teams.
  • Ability to foster safe, collaborative, and inclusive engineering environments.
  • Comfort operating without a playbook while defining architecture, team processes, and roadmap simultaneously.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of customer support tools and workflows to inform tooling and framework decisions.
  • Experience leading through context setting, collaboration, and alignment across product, design, engineering, and leadership.
  • Prior engineering experience with custom tools that improve support agent efficiency and fan outcomes is preferred.
  • Prior experience with AI agent optimization, including tools, methods, and workflows for customer service agents, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the technology stack is helpful, including Python, Go, C#/.NET Core, React+TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Airflow, Temporal, Zendesk, Sierra, and LLM tooling.
  • Experience across the listed technologies is not required; strong core engineering ability and willingness to learn matter most.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is not explicitly required but may be considered in compensation decisions along with other factors.
  • Compensation is influenced by skills, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
