Description

  • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed team of vulnerability researchers, scan operations engineers, and software engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership, set direction, and coach engineers while maintaining a high engineering bar.
  • Partner with engineering leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to align scope, timelines, and solution designs.
  • Communicate and advocate technical solutions to product, engineering, and business audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, processes, and tools to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure teams design, develop, and deploy features with high availability, quality, low latency, and scalability.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of product features and updates against company goals and timelines.
  • Implement and maintain agile methodologies for project tracking and documentation.
  • Champion an AI-first engineering culture and guide teams in adopting AI tools and workflows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in an Enterprise SaaS product.
  • 4+ years in a management or leadership role, ideally overseeing multiple functions with remote teams across different time zones.
  • Meaningful hands-on software engineering experience with familiarity in Python, Go, or C.
  • Background in low-level, network-heavy applications with high-volume traffic, availability, and global scale is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with message buses/queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Extensive familiarity with the TCP/IP protocol stack, including DNS, WHOIS, and related reconnaissance/discovery artifacts.
  • Comfort with AI development concepts and enthusiasm for incorporating AI into engineering workflows.
  • Experience in technical leadership, including leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Strong coaching mindset with a passion for helping junior engineers grow their careers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education/work experience.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and the challenges of building cybersecurity products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or signature development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security products related to Recorded Future’s offerings is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $199,000–$278,000.
