Description

  • Manage a team of cross-functional engineers across backend, frontend, and multiple platforms.
  • Work with Product to design, develop, prioritize, and plan product enhancements for fans and enterprise customers.
  • Guide the team to improve operational and engineering best practices.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, hold one-on-ones, and support career development for direct reports.
  • Foster an inclusive and empowering team environment that supports complex problem-solving and career growth.
  • Participate actively in recruiting and help grow the engineering team.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical and design feedback.
  • Communicate technical and product decisions to the right stakeholders and help resolve blocking issues.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization on execution and alignment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading productive, motivated teams.
  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer in a role focused on writing code.
  • A strong foundation of technical excellence that the team can rely on.
  • Knowledge of the technology industry to guide tooling and framework decisions.
  • Experience leading through context-setting and cross-functional collaboration with product, design, engineering, and leadership.
  • Product-minded engineering experience across native mobile, web, and backend systems.
  • Experience working on both consumer and enterprise products.
  • Experience in the sports technology industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be based on the East Coast; preference for candidates in the New York City area.
  • Familiarity with the listed stack is not required, but experience with relevant tools and platforms is a plus, including Python, Go, C#+.NET Core, Swift, Next.js, TypeScript, iOS, Android, Web, OAuth 2.0, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Postgres, Redis, Memcache, Elasticsearch, AWS, and Git/GitLab.
