Description

  • Develop and improve new and existing CLaws designs and the associated assessment tools using Matlab and C++.
  • Support CLaws, autopilot, and navigation design development for R&D projects.
  • Develop CLaws and system requirements.
  • Perform requirements validation and verification for CLaws updates and new designs.
  • Verify and deliver CLaws in accordance with DO-178B and SAE ARP 4754 standards.
  • Design and develop pilot-in-the-loop CLaws based on handling quality, flight and structural envelope protection, performance, test pilot, and aircraft-level requirements.
  • Evaluate CLaws and FBW system failures, stability, and performance using analytical methods, desktop simulations, pilot-in-the-loop simulator tests, and flight test data.
  • Support integration of CLaws into test rigs and supplier hardware such as PFCC systems for Collins, Thales, NRC, and CMC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering; PhD in Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience developing flight control laws for fly-by-wire aircraft.
  • Strong expertise in aircraft flight dynamics and aerodynamics.
  • Experience with classical and modern control systems design techniques for SISO and MIMO systems, including advanced control law methods.
  • Good understanding of control law evaluation techniques, including linear and nonlinear testing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft stability, handling qualities, and pilot-in-the-loop control.
  • Understanding of DO-178B standards, system requirements verification and validation, and certification of complex software.
  • Proficiency with Matlab and Simulink for simulation, aircraft/system modeling, and control law development.
  • Good understanding of state estimation or Kalman filtering.
  • Proficiency in Matlab scripting and C++ programming.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with an innovative and motivated mindset.
