Description

  • Lead modernization of the legacy Store Management System.
  • Reverse engineer EZC file structures, data access patterns, dependencies, and undocumented functionality.
  • Develop phased migration strategies and transition architectures supporting legacy-modern coexistence.
  • Design, develop, refactor, and maintain enterprise solutions using C and C++.
  • Build APIs, middleware, integration services, ETL processes, and modernization frameworks.
  • Design PostgreSQL schemas, indexing strategies, and performance optimization solutions.
  • Convert file-based data models to relational designs and ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and auditability.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, database, infrastructure, and distributed-system issues.
  • Document architectures, migration plans, dependencies, and technical decisions.
  • Use and govern AI-assisted tools for code analysis, documentation, testing, reverse engineering, and modernization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on C/C++ development experience.
  • Strong expertise in C, C++, and SQL.
  • Experience with large-scale legacy systems and mission-critical enterprise applications.
  • Strong relational database design and database modernization or migration experience.
  • Experience with software architecture, systems programming, integration patterns, and complex distributed environments.
  • Demonstrated enterprise experience using AI-assisted development tools.
  • Preferred experience with proprietary, hierarchical, or file-based databases, including EZC.
  • Preferred experience with PostgreSQL, Python, Claude Code, cloud modernization, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
  • Preferred experience in retail, POS, inventory, merchandising, supply chain, or high-volume transaction systems.
  • Preferred experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
