Description

  • Architect, develop, debug, and test customer-facing firmware features in C/C++ and Golang.
  • Build long-term IoT products and support more than 1.5 million devices in the field.
  • Design and develop internal observability practices to monitor firmware rollout health.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, customer support teams, firmware teams, and full-stack engineers.
  • Participate in customer interviews and use metrics to improve customer outcomes.
  • Support production firmware releases and related operational work.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional industry experience in software development.
  • Experience with large-scale observability for production systems.
  • Experience developing and shipping production code.
  • Experience building and monitoring metrics during firmware rollouts.
  • Experience triaging and assessing customer- and QA-found issues.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Experience with C/C++ or Golang is a plus.
  • Experience working on Linux-based embedded systems on complex SoCs.
  • Experience working with SoC vendors and JDM partners.
  • Experience working on Linux drivers and debugging complex system issues with system engineers.
  • Automotive OEM/supplier or telematics provider experience.
  • Basic knowledge of CAN-utils (Linux CAN).

  • Annual base salary of $154,700 to $208,000 USD.
