Description

  • Become an expert on Samsara products and how they support digital transformation for physical operations.
  • Explain to prospects how businesses in similar industries use Samsara to solve common operational challenges.
  • Lead discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations that help close deals.
  • Guide installers through product installation scenarios and help build deployment plans.
  • Develop sample proof-of-concept scripts using the open API and document them for other sales engineers.
  • Act as a consultant to customers to support integration, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between product and sales teams by translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles while working across teams and geographies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5 years of experience supporting customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support role.
  • Ability and mindset for continuous growth and development.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of enterprise customer-facing pre-sales experience preferred.
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications, preferred.
  • Experience identifying customer value and prioritizing what matters most to the customer, preferred.
  • Interest in electronic systems or hands-on hobby projects such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino, preferred.
  • Track record of success selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles, preferred.
  • Experience with task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or a similar language, preferred.
  • Experience building solutions using open APIs, preferred.
