Description

  • Conduct product demonstrations and lead live proof-of-concept trials for prospective customers.
  • Support senior sales reps in expanding existing customers and winning new business.
  • Explain Samsara’s value proposition through onsite meetings, webinars, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Respond to functional and technical portions of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Work with Product Management and other cross-functional teams to improve the platform.
  • Source and deliver product information, test alpha products and features, and share findings with the SE team.
  • Manage technical sales projects, create process improvements, and build automation that scales the SE team.
  • Maintain high availability to Sales and cross-functional teams while contributing to regional sales impact and team enablement.
  • Use creative, analytical approaches to remove sales obstacles and manage a quota alongside senior responsibilities.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles across Sales and SE communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical, customer success, or customer/product support role such as Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Solutions Engineer.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders using technical sales acumen, business process understanding, and change management knowledge.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards and transports such as XML, REST, SOAP, and EDI.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs between SaaS applications and exposure to SaaS-based integrations.
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Experience with task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Preferred: Experience building solutions using open APIs.
  • Preferred: Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications.
  • Preferred: Consistent track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
  • Preferred: Interest in electronic systems such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino.
