Description

  • Conduct product demonstrations and lead live proof-of-concept trials for prospective customers.
  • Support senior-level sellers in expanding existing accounts and winning new customers.
  • Respond to functional and technical portions of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Work closely with Product Management and other teams to help develop the Samsara platform.
  • Deliver value propositions and product capabilities on-site, remotely, and at conferences or trade shows.
  • Use creative and adaptive approaches to remove sales obstacles and support technical sales cycles.
  • Source and deliver product information, test alpha products and features, and manage related projects.
  • Build process improvements and automation that scale the broader Sales Engineering team.
  • Share learnings and best practices with the SE team through meetings and internal communication channels.
  • Remain highly available to Sales and cross-functional teams and contribute to SE enablement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role, customer success role, or customer/product support role.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, and automation and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards and transports such as XML, REST, SOAP, and EDI.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs between SaaS applications and exposure to SaaS-based integrations.
  • Must be located within and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: experience with task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Preferred: experience building solutions using open APIs.
  • Preferred: understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications.
  • Preferred: hobbyist interest in electronics-driven systems such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino.
  • Preferred: track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
