Description

  • Provide executive oversight for clinical research portfolios, ensuring on-time, in-scope, budget-compliant, and high-quality delivery.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for clients and internal teams while addressing portfolio risks and resource needs.
  • Partner with Business Development to develop delivery models, operational strategies, pricing approaches, and bid defenses.
  • Lead transitions from proposal development to project execution and oversee governance meetings and portfolio reviews.
  • Manage portfolio financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, change orders, contracts, and out-of-scope work.
  • Build executive-level client relationships and support repeat business through proactive engagement and successful delivery.
  • Mentor Project Management staff and promote leadership development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive consistent, efficient, and compliant delivery in accordance with SOPs, regulatory requirements, ICH-GCP, and client expectations.
  • Establish governance, communication, and escalation pathways across sponsors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Life Science or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of clinical research project management or equivalent leadership experience, including 4+ years of program- or portfolio-level oversight.
  • At least 4 years of experience working at or managing contract research organizations (CROs).
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and contract administration.
  • Advanced strategic planning and prioritization skills for aligning resources and achieving deliverables.
  • Understanding of industry regulatory and compliance standards, including applicable ICH-GCP requirements.
  • Knowledge of business development, proposal strategy, and organizational change management.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, mentoring, coaching, and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for senior client and stakeholder engagement.
  • Respiratory clinical research expertise and the ability to manage evolving priorities are required for the role.
