Description

  • Design, deploy, and operate Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) workloads to meet security, resilience, and performance goals.
  • Lead AKS bootstrapping, cluster, node, and pod configuration, along with operational support activities.
  • Build automated deployment templates that allow customers to provision AKS instances.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD and GitHub build/release pipelines across Dev, Stage, and Production environments.
  • Configure autoscaling using Horizontal Pod Autoscaler and Cluster Autoscaler, and integrate Azure Container Instance (ACI) where appropriate.
  • Implement Kubernetes security controls, including pod security policies, node-to-node encryption, and NIST-aligned protections for container image deployments.
  • Integrate AKS logs and diagnostics into Azure Event Hub or Storage and enable real-time monitoring.
  • Manage cluster authentication and authorization using managed identities, service principals, certificates, and secrets.
  • Deploy and manage HTTPS ingress controllers and TLS certificate management for Kubernetes services.
  • Use governance and scanning tools to monitor images, runtime, vulnerabilities, registries, and hosts.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of hands-on container deployment experience on Azure AKS.
  • 7+ years of experience working with microservices, especially event-based services, scalability, and security.
  • 4+ years of Azure engineering experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing AKS-hosted solutions and Kubernetes build pipelines.
  • 2+ years building automation and CD pipelines with Terraform and Flux using GitOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes concepts, including pods, nodes, ConfigMaps, selectors, and services.
  • Experience deploying and configuring HPA, Cluster Autoscaler, and integrating Azure Container Instance (ACI).
  • Experience deploying Linux and/or Windows Kubernetes clusters from Azure CLI and using AKS for CI/CD runtime.
  • Working knowledge of NIST security policies and standards, and familiarity with FedRAMP, CSA, or ISO cloud/container standards.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, Azure Container Registry (ACR), and deployment to AKS from private registries.
  • Familiarity with API standards such as Swagger and REST, and database technologies such as Azure SQL Server, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Istio, Envoy, Helm, Kustomize, Flux, and Crossplane.
  • Nice-to-have experience with governance and security tools such as Arnica, Wiz, and SonarQube.
  • Nice-to-have familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus and Dynatrace, and with Kusto query language.
  • Nice-to-have background working in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or GitOps-based development lifecycles.
  • Nice-to-have Terraform scripting, YAML, and Shell scripting for Azure CLI automation.
