Description

  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex issues across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and endpoint security.
  • Diagnose root causes and resolve problems without simply patching symptoms.
  • Proactively audit client environments to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and inefficiencies before they become incidents.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and automation to catch issues early or eliminate them entirely.
  • Lead infrastructure projects end to end, including cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 deployments, network overhauls, and security implementations.
  • Write and maintain PowerShell scripts that automate repetitive manual tasks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help them become more capable and independent.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and vendors on technical issues, status, blockers, and resolutions.
  • Document work thoroughly so others can build on it without needing clarification.
  • Own client environments and help improve the team’s tools, standards, and operating processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience, including at least 2 years in an MSP or multi-client environment.
  • Deep proficiency in Windows Server 2016–2022, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall management with SonicWall, Fortinet, or Meraki.
  • Solid Microsoft 365 and Azure experience at approximately AZ-104 level or equivalent.
  • PowerShell scripting proficiency for creating readable, reliable scripts that solve operational problems.
  • Hands-on experience with RMM and PSA platforms such as Datto, HaloPSA, or NinjaRMM.
  • VOIP support experience, ideally with 3CX or a similar platform.
  • Strong diagnostic skills focused on finding root causes rather than short-term fixes.
  • Natural mentoring ability and the capacity to raise the capability of junior engineers.
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to ask smart questions early and operate independently once onboarded.
  • Clear, timely, and honest communication, including when updates are not favorable.
  • A long-term mindset and interest in growing with the company rather than job-hopping.
