Description

  • Own payroll compliance for a specific country or region and act as the accountable subject-matter expert.
  • Interpret local legal and payroll requirements and implement them across processes, systems, customer workflows, and documentation.
  • Translate statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, thresholds, and edge cases into clear requirements for Product and Engineering.
  • Partner with Product Design to create compliant, intuitive, and auditable user experiences.
  • Review specifications, test logic, and validate product outputs for legislative accuracy.
  • Lead multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation.
  • Establish scalable audit frameworks and drive root-cause analysis and systemic improvements.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for regional compliance issues and support incident resolution.
  • Design governance frameworks, controls, SOPs, monitoring mechanisms, and documentation for payroll compliance operations.
  • Build training materials, deliver enablement sessions, and coach internal teams to strengthen compliance capability.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for a specific country or region.
  • Strong understanding of how legislation translates into payroll calculations and system logic.
  • Proven experience leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.
  • Confident investigator with sound judgment in high-risk or sensitive scenarios.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching team members and building team capability.
  • Systems-thinking approach to designing scalable frameworks, documentation, processes, and controls.
  • Comfortable working in an asynchronous, fast-changing, fully remote environment.
