Description

  • Support end-to-end payroll operations across the U.S., Canada, and Colombia, including data entry, reconciliation, and documentation.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, terminations, and employee lifecycle changes in HRIS and benefits platforms.
  • Perform data quality checks across payroll, benefits, and HRIS systems to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll and benefits audits by preparing documentation and reconciling variances.
  • Assist with compensation research and benchmarking by compiling market data for the annual compensation review cycle.
  • Manage vendor invoices, reconciliation tracking, and payment requests for payroll and benefits providers.
  • Maintain employee files and records in compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance workstreams related to ERISA, ACA, FLSA, and Colombian labor law through data preparation and documentation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions about payroll, benefits, and compensation.
  • Document and map payroll, compensation, and benefits processes to identify automation and efficiency opportunities.
  • Support leave of absence administration, disability claims, and COBRA processes.
  • Participate in AI and automation initiatives by testing new tools and contributing to process improvements.
  • Assist with collecting and filing payroll and benefit tax forms.
  • Support ad hoc People Operations projects tied to Sezzle’s growth, ILC bank charter readiness, and international expansion.

Requirements

  • Current university student or recent graduate in Finance.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills with the ability to collaborate daily with US-based teams.
  • Spanish fluency at native or near-native level.
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and eagerness to learn new domains.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
  • Interest in developing AI-driven skills.
  • Basic understanding of Colombian payroll, taxation, and labor compliance is preferred.
  • Interest in AI, automation, and RegTech applications within People Operations is preferred.
