Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management work while actively contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers with hiring needs.
  • Own the onboarding process for new engineers.
  • Manage team dynamics and serve as the spokesperson for the team.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support each direct report’s career growth and help the team improve as a group.
  • Redesign engineering delivery using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase and use verification loops to ensure quality.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A kind, people-first approach focused on efficient processes.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
  • Ambition and intentionality around diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
  • Experience leading with values alignment in a globally distributed, asynchronous environment (preferred).
