Description

  • Execute deep-dive market research to map talent ecosystems across sectors such as AI/ML, Fintech, and SaaS.
  • Identify where Engineering, Product, and Design talent is concentrated by mapping team structures, reporting lines, and headcount at target companies.
  • Track talent movement, promotion patterns, organizational changes, and availability of candidates across high-growth startups.
  • Build high-quality candidate pipelines for Engineering, Product, and Design roles at multiple seniority levels.
  • Use LinkedIn Recruiter at an advanced level to create Boolean searches, apply filters, and find candidates missed by standard searches.
  • Source candidates through non-LinkedIn channels such as GitHub, patent databases, Crunchbase, academic publications, conference speaker lists, and open-source contributions.
  • Research market intelligence including headcount trends, funding rounds, team growth, and competitor hiring activity to inform hiring strategy.
  • Maintain accurate, organized Google Sheets for market maps, candidate lists, source tracking, search notes, and candidate status documentation.
  • Collaborate with recruiters and managing partners to translate client briefs into targeted research strategies and adjust to evolving needs.
  • Communicate findings clearly, including market constraints, talent availability, competitive dynamics, and pipeline gaps.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience sourcing and recruiting Engineering, Product, and Design roles in the US venture-backed startup ecosystem, Seed through Series D.
  • Advanced proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, including Boolean logic, filters, and platform features.
  • Strong understanding of venture-backed startup culture and what it takes to attract talent in that environment.
  • Ability to research niche markets thoroughly and build comprehensive, well-sourced candidate lists.
  • Strong data organization skills and clean, logical Google Sheets documentation.
  • Experience building market maps or talent ecosystem analyses for sectors such as AI/ML, Fintech, or SaaS is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience sourcing through GitHub, Crunchbase, patent databases, or other non-LinkedIn methods is preferred.
  • Background in a boutique or retained recruiting firm with a research-driven search methodology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with funding stages and venture ecosystem dynamics is preferred.
  • Experience delivering candidate intelligence reports or market briefings to recruiting leadership or clients is preferred.
