Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend about 30% of the time on management work while actively contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers in hiring when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
  • Manage team dynamics as the team spokesperson and help bring out the best in each person.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, coaching, and guidance to direct reports.
  • Support each direct report’s career growth and help the team grow as a group.
  • Redesign engineering delivery so autonomous agents are the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec to plan to execute to verify.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase and apply verification loops to ensure quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with backend development using Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them iteratively.
  • Ability to think in systems by defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.

  • Strong automation and AI capabilities, with clear AI fluency.
