Description

Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend work.
Spend about 30% of time on management and the rest actively contributing to product development.
Participate in hiring for the team and support hiring efforts for peer teams.
Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
Manage team dynamics and act as the spokesperson for the team.
Provide continuous, constructive feedback and coaching to direct reports.
Support the growth and career development of each direct report and the team as a whole.
Redesign engineering delivery so autonomous agents are the default execution layer.
Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec to plan, execute, and verify.
Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives and use verification loops to ensure correct, secure, reliable, and scalable outcomes.

Requirements

Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
Ability to think in systems and close the loop on quality through clear specs, planning, and verification.
Solid communication skills.
Strong knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
Good understanding of team dynamics.

Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
Experience in a fully remote, async work environment is implied by the role context and location flexibility.
