Description

  • Collaborate with key design teams to integrate the latest design data into full simulations of customer missions.
  • Develop and use software tooling to optimize launch and orbital trajectories for customer missions.
  • Lead interdisciplinary design trade studies to inform decisions about the vehicle, mission trajectories, and ConOps.
  • Define and maintain high-level vehicle and trajectory design requirements.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve software tools across multiple languages, including core simulation capabilities and analysis utilities.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional collaboration with teams across Vehicle Engineering.
  • Support analysis across the full launch system, from conceptual design through post-flight data review.
  • Engage with hardware and operations to drive programmatic change on multi-disciplinary problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems from first principles.
  • Direct experience with rocketry, space systems, or similarly complex hardware systems.
  • Strong proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB.
  • Experience setting up complex simulation processes.
  • Ability to complete projects with end-to-end ownership and a high degree of independence.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, intense startup environment.
  • Familiarity with launch vehicle trajectory design and optimization is preferred.
  • Experience as a leading contributor on complex multi-disciplinary engineering analysis projects is preferred.
  • Prior work in a startup environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and dependency management is preferred.
