Description

  • Own features from problem understanding and solution design through release, production support, and improvement.
  • Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services, APIs, and data models.
  • Scope and decompose work, make architectural decisions, and present technical solutions.
  • Build new functionality while refactoring existing code and improving test coverage.
  • Use data, logs, and customer feedback to investigate issues and guide product and technical decisions.
  • Use AI tools for development, refactoring, code review, testing, documentation, and investigation.
  • Improve development processes through automation, observability, alerting, and release improvements.
  • Participate in on-call and support rotations, investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement lasting fixes.
  • Prepare release plans, manage deployments, and collaborate with Backend, Frontend, iOS, Android, Support, and other teams.
  • Drive engineering initiatives, improve practices, and share knowledge across the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including end-to-end ownership of complex features or services.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP and Symfony.
  • Strong knowledge of system and API design, design patterns, clean code, and domain-driven design.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and IAM.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless architectures.
  • Experience with Xdebug, Blackfire, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and ExpressJS or NestJS.
  • Daily use of AI in development, with the ability to explain delegation and output validation; AI/LLM product experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of application security and OWASP principles; ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar standards experience is preferred.
  • Autonomous, product-minded approach with strong debugging, decision-making, and delivery skills.
