Description

  • Deploy and operate a self-hosted Renovate environment with containers, workers, and job orchestration.
  • Automate repository discovery and onboarding through the GitLab API.
  • Develop and maintain version-controlled Renovate configuration presets with repository-level customization.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and reporting dashboards for coverage, throughput, and errors.
  • Optimize performance through parallelization, caching, rate-limit management, and error handling.
  • Integrate artifact and container registries with secure credential and secrets management.
  • Automate operational processes to maintain reliable day-to-day operations.
  • Create operational documentation and runbooks and support development teams during rollout.
  • Lead the phased implementation from pilot deployment through full-scale adoption.

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a DevOps, Platform, Automation Engineer, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD and practical experience with the GitLab API.
  • Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as OpenTofu and Helm.
  • Scripting or programming experience with Bash, Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability solutions, preferably New Relic.
  • Knowledge of secrets management tools such as Vault.
  • Experience with package and container registries.
  • Practical experience with Renovate and automated dependency management.
  • Experience operating Renovate or designing scalable GitLab platforms across large repository estates (preferred).
  • Good English communication skills and the ability to work independently in a structured, solution-oriented manner.
