Description

  • Spend the first weeks of each engagement performing the customer’s operational work before automating it.
  • Work embedded inside client teams and operating processes rather than as an external vendor.
  • Rebuild critical business functions from first principles using industry blueprints and client-specific constraints.
  • Own the delivery method and drive work autonomously from ambiguous starting points.
  • Ship production AI systems and continue iterating on them from real-world feedback.
  • Build, own, and interpret evaluation suites for non-deterministic GenAI/LLM systems.
  • Lead technical redesign conversations with business leaders and technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and improve the company’s AI delivery tooling, frameworks, and blueprints.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with substantial hands-on production coding responsibility.
  • Willingness to spend weeks doing operational work such as claims processing, underwriting, or revenue-cycle tasks before writing code.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar business domains quickly.
  • Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production, not just demos or notebooks.
  • Experience building or owning an eval suite for a non-deterministic system.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Cloud-native delivery experience on AWS, including containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with both BU heads and CTO-level stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, underspecified engagements, and high ownership.
  • Solid AI/ML foundations with understanding of model failure modes.
  • Strong hands-on production experience with Claude Code/Cowork.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Preferred: prior experience as a founder, CTO, or engineering leader returning to individual contribution.
  • Preferred: deep industry experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or asset management.
  • Preferred: consulting, professional services, or embedded customer-facing delivery experience.
  • Preferred: data platform experience with data lakes, warehouses, streaming/real-time analytics, data mesh, data contracts, governance, and data quality.
  • Preferred: MLOps and classical ML experience with PyTorch, SageMaker, and MLflow.
  • Preferred: experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or inference/serving optimization.
  • Preferred: graph database experience with Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
  • Preferred: IaC depth with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
  • Preferred: open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI.
