Description

  • Build and deploy machine learning models for credit and fraud risk management.
  • Work with engineering to productionize models in the live environment.
  • Use credit bureau, customer, and alternative data sources to develop credit and fraud strategies.
  • Analyze portfolio performance by segment, identify trends, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to Risk Management and cross-functional partners.
  • Develop internal tools and workflow solutions to improve data science productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor credit risk models and strategies in production and extract actionable insights.
  • Evaluate new machine learning algorithms and features from alternative data providers.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses supporting risk management, investor services, operations, and corporate development.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of experience in fintech, finance, or another high-impact field applying statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with consumer lending, unsecured personal loans, or credit cards is a strong plus.
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferably in statistics, computer science, engineering, physical sciences, economics, or a related technical field.
  • Expert knowledge of statistical programming languages such as Python and database languages such as SQL.
  • Solid understanding of coding best practices, model documentation, and MLOps principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical subject matter into clear business strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and compliance teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to innovate within regulatory guidelines with a commitment to reproducible research and model governance.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and creative with a strong bridge between data science and business strategy.
