Description

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and platform engineers.
  • Own day-to-day engineering operations, including sprint delivery, technical quality, and capacity planning.
  • Run sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives to manage delivery cadence across multiple workstreams.
  • Lead technical design reviews and architectural decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the medallion data architecture.
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards for code review, branching strategy, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and incident management.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical blockers, cross-team dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Partner with the SVP on hiring, onboarding, team development, vendor relationships, and strategic planning.
  • Translate business requirements into technical scope and coordinate with Insights Hub, Evidence Solutions, Product Solutions, IT, Corporate IT, Security, and external vendors.
  • Ensure production systems meet SLAs and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
  • Review code, debug production issues, and make sound architectural judgments.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams with hiring, performance management, and delivery accountability.
  • Direct experience with the modern data stack, including cloud data warehouses, transformation frameworks, and orchestration tools.
  • Snowflake experience preferred.
  • Track record of delivering complex data platform initiatives such as migrations, consolidations, or greenfield builds.
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments.
  • Ability to review code, debug production issues, and make sound architectural judgments.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and making progress without perfect information.
  • Strong focus on engineering craft, including clean code, good tests, and clear documentation.
  • Hands-on leadership experience building and scaling engineering teams is highly desirable.
