Description

  • Own technical context, architecture, decisions, feasibility, and delivery for creative technology components of large-scale projects.
  • Serve as technical lead for large-scale projects, exhibits, and multi-exhibit installations.
  • Make final creative technology and software development decisions, including when to engage external vendors or specialists.
  • Develop project timelines, schedules, budgets, and resource plans with production and integration teams.
  • Track project progress and deliverables while maintaining schedules with project managers or producers.
  • Perform, delegate, test, and implement software development work.
  • Research solutions and prototype components involving significant risks or unknowns.
  • Lead developer teams and mentor direct reports and other employees.
  • Contribute technical insight during concept development, ideation, and production.
  • Support freelancer networks, hiring decisions, team structures, and creative technology processes.

Requirements

  • Approximately 7+ years of experience preferred.
  • Expert software development skills in either full-stack web development or TouchDesigner, with general knowledge of the other.
  • Strong understanding of technical areas beyond creative technology, including electrical and mechanical engineering, fabrication, procurement, architecture, construction, AV, and third-party hardware/software integration.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of creative software development tools and willingness to work hands-on with them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort working directly with clients.
  • Ability to travel as required, including travel to Pittsburgh for remote candidates.
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor employees, and collaborate across disciplines.

Benefits

  • Anticipated salary range of $145,000–$190,000 per year.
  • Pittsburgh-based role with remote consideration for qualified candidates willing to travel to Pittsburgh as required.
