Description

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and overall support to the Site Start-Up team across project delivery, communication, resourcing, procedures, systems, and processes.
  • Oversee site start-up delivery across IRB/EC and Competent Authority submissions, site contracts, and budget negotiations.
  • Work with the Head of Site Start Up to define and improve the SSU framework, tools, methodology, and risk mitigation approach.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Operations, project management, and other cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and govern SSU activities globally and regionally.
  • Support corporate and departmental business strategies and act as an ambassador for change management during growth and expansion.
  • Lead large or complex SSU programs and manage escalations and remediation of SSU issues.
  • Optimize SSU processes and delivery to support profitability and budget targets.
  • Partner with Global Resourcing teams to manage SSU leads, specialists, and site contract staff against cost, time, and quality goals.
  • Support career development, growth, and succession planning for SSU team members.
  • Develop, measure, and report SSU KPIs and lead continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 12 years of clinical research experience, including extensive Site Start-Up experience.
  • Experience working for a Clinical Research Organization (CRO).
  • People management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and the clinical development process.
  • Demonstrated leadership track record.
  • Experience working in a team environment with resource management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and clinical software such as CTMS, eTMF, and EDC.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a customer service mindset.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Remote work eligibility in the UK, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, or Romania.
