Description

  • Lead and manage internal account teams to maximize effectiveness and efficiency for clients and the company.
  • Serve as the day-to-day strategic advisor to clients and ensure work stays aligned to strategy, budget, and timelines.
  • Oversee, coach, and mentor Strategic Account Directors, Strategic Account Managers, and Strategic Account Associates.
  • Prepare annual strategic and tactical plans for clients, along with campaign and project plans as needed.
  • Understand client business challenges and help define and achieve their business goals.
  • Manage and strengthen client relationships while acting as an extension of the client’s team.
  • Propose, sell, and oversee client ideas and projects tied to client objectives.
  • Generate revenue, manage profitability, and contribute through sound fiscal management.
  • Identify, cultivate, and participate in new business opportunities and pitches.
  • Support department and company initiatives and report on the status of client relationships as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced degree such as PhD, MD, or PharmD in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine is preferred.
  • Advanced degree in management, marketing, or business is also preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of pharmaceutical or biotech marketing, medical affairs, or medical communications agency experience.
  • Experience successfully managing and growing $2.5M+ pharma or healthcare accounts.
  • Consistent track record of achieving or surpassing revenue and profitability targets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Internet proficiency.
  • PowerPoint design proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical and biotech marketing, especially medical communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted strategic and business advisor.
  • Ability to lead teams, grow client relationships, and manage expanding business opportunities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with clients and thought leaders across therapeutic areas.
  • Ability to interpret market dynamics, scientific information, clinical and preclinical data, business metrics, and financial information.
