Description

  • Design, code, and ship new features for merchants and affiliates.
  • Make architectural and technology decisions for the platform.
  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions to support growth.
  • Configure and manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Assist customer support and build tools to automate platform operations.
  • Write automated tests, provide code reviews, and help maintain the platform.
  • Address database scaling challenges as traffic and user growth increase.
  • Contribute to planning and initial implementation of the migration from Heroku to a more customizable cloud environment.
  • Introduce architectural changes that enable the product to expand its offering.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional Rails development experience.
  • Practical understanding of running Rails at scale and solving performance challenges.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience beyond basic usage, including configuration, deployment management, and service orchestration.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure automation tools and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Basic frontend development skills with JavaScript and CSS for occasional work.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for distributed team collaboration.
  • Empathy and the ability to work closely with teammates and give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails 7, JavaScript/TypeScript, Sidekiq, PostgreSQL, Redis, RSpec, Capybara, Heroku, and GitHub Actions is part of the current stack.
