Description

  • Own the platform roadmap by identifying infrastructure gaps, prioritizing work, and driving improvements forward.
  • Assess the current infrastructure architecture and surface risks and opportunities within the first 3-6 months.
  • Lead the consolidation of two infrastructure stacks into a unified platform with minimal disruption.
  • Manage infrastructure costs, including proxy spend, and implement optimizations without sacrificing performance or security.
  • Ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, and performance through monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Strengthen security measures to protect the platform against ongoing threats and attacks.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams and contribute to AI-related projects when needed.
  • Help raise the engineering team’s maturity around AI usage and standardize development environment tooling and processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of platform or DevOps engineering experience at scale, with a record of driving infrastructure improvements.
  • Strong Kubernetes expertise with experience in containerization and orchestration for large-scale deployments.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, and experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise and influence technical stakeholders in a fully remote, async-first environment.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to create concrete impact at work.
  • Experience leading or mentoring other engineers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DigitalOcean, Hetzner, PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, MongoDB, or similar environments is a plus.
