Description

  • Track, monitor, and implement controls to support compliance with NERC, PPA, RTO, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
  • Partner with compliance staff to assess the impact of new or revised requirements and ensure readiness.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate system performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
  • Conduct operational assessments and risk analyses to identify compliance vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform or support root cause analyses of system failures or disturbances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work with internal engineering, commercial, and external vendor teams to develop solutions that improve asset performance.
  • Design and implement robust monitoring, controls, and operating processes for asset optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify optimization and modernization opportunities.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to asset management, market trading, technology integration, and operations.
  • Partner with Field Managers on troubleshooting, issue resolution, and testing to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Support Asset Managers with reliability needs, compliance inquiries, and evidence generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in reliability engineering, power system analysis, asset management, or a related field in the electric utility industry.
  • Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and GO/GOP requirements, plus ISO and utility experience.
  • Experience in the design, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of power system assets.
  • Experience in substation design, equipment, and maintenance is a plus.
  • Understanding of energy markets and locational marginal price formation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data for decision-making.
  • Ability to explain complex compliance requirements and evidence to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with geographically dispersed technical and non-technical team members.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in programming and data management to track requirements and evidence; working knowledge of SQL, GRC tools, and tracking spreadsheets is a plus.
  • Ability to connect databases to modeling tools using SQL and Power BI.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create automation scripts in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages is a plus.
  • Experience using the Seeq analysis tool is a plus.
