Description

  • Build and maintain production-quality backend game services.
  • Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to design core game services, including sessions, matchmaking, and player progression.
  • Design and implement core services as the game moves from prototype to production.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation and email communication to align multiple teams.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation after launch and respond to production incidents.
  • Work with the team to turn a creative concept into a new franchise at PlayStation.

Requirements

  • Production experience designing and building backend game services.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical customers to help them achieve their goals.
  • Ability to diagnose complex system failures using logging and metrics.
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a “we” culture mindset.
  • Experience with games as a service online game development (preferred).
  • Experience leading engineers through direct management, mentoring, or guidance (preferred).
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in C++ (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux, including shell scripting and system configuration (preferred).
  • Background checks are required at the offer stage.

  • Base salary range of $190,000 to $285,000 USD for Seattle, with pay varying by geographic location and hybrid policy.
