Description

  • Build and maintain production-quality backend game services.
  • Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to design core game services, including sessions, matchmaking, and player progression.
  • Gather requirements and translate them into implementation and scalable service architecture.
  • Write clear, concise technical documentation and email communications that align multiple teams.
  • Summarize complex technical topics to drive cross-team alignment.
  • Respond calmly to production incidents and participate in an on-call rotation after launch.
  • Work with the team to turn a creative concept into a production-ready game service platform.

Requirements

  • Production experience designing and building backend game services.
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust.
  • Ability to diagnose complex system failures using logging and metrics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a “we” culture mindset.
  • Experience with games as a service or online game development (preferred).
  • Experience leading engineers through direct management, mentoring, or guidance (preferred).
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in C++ (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux, including shell scripting and system configuration (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $190,000 to $285,000 USD for Seattle-based candidates, with pay varying by location.
