Description

  • Lead and coordinate a backend development team for the MediaStore SaaS platform.
  • Oversee development of backend solutions for content management, video screening, contracting, fulfillment, and delivery.
  • Prototype, conceptualize, and optimize backend services for web and mobile applications.
  • Review teammates’ code to maintain quality and support continuous learning.
  • Mentor team members on coding standards, tooling, and best practices.
  • Advise teammates to build robust and highly optimized software.
  • Help introduce new technologies and methodologies into the development process.
  • Work across international teams in project management, support, development, QA, and design.
  • Contribute to building maintainable, secure, performant, and flexible software.
  • Use AI tools to improve development efficiency while protecting code quality.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in web application development.
  • 5+ years of experience programming in Ruby on Rails.
  • Excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL or another SQL database system.
  • Experience building and consuming JSON APIs.
  • Strong experience with automated testing using RSpec.
  • Familiarity with Git and Git-based workflows, including GitHub code reviews.
  • Ability to balance maintainability, security, performance, and flexibility.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams of at least 5 developers (preferred).
  • First-hand experience with DevOps tools and environments (preferred).
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge, specifically AWS (preferred).
  • Experience using AI tools for rapid but solid code development (preferred).
  • Knowledge of video transcoding and online streaming (preferred).
  • Strong autonomy, self-discipline, ownership, and ability to self-educate.
