Description

  • Own the strategy and implementation of forecasting models for key company metrics such as monthly active users.
  • Lead the full modeling lifecycle from problem framing and feature engineering through deployment, monitoring, and explainability.
  • Define forecasting model architectures and standards and partner with Engineering on the forecasting platform.
  • Present forecasts, scenario analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop broader time-series solutions such as anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, attribution, and early-warning signals.
  • Partner with BizOps, Finance, and product teams to embed forecasts into operational and strategic planning.
  • Lead and mentor at least two data scientists through feedback, coaching, and technical guidance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience building and shipping production time-series or forecasting models with web-scale data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • A track record of delivering adjustable, well-calibrated, and explainable forecasting systems that inform decision-making.
  • Strong background in time-series modeling and applied statistics/econometrics; an advanced degree such as an MS or PhD is preferred.
  • Expertise in at least one scripting language, ideally Python.
  • Strong SQL skills, including Hive, Presto, or Spark SQL.
  • Experience building reliable data pipelines and workflows, such as with Airflow.
  • Business acumen and an ownership mindset with the ability to simplify complex problems and connect model outputs to business levers.
  • Excellent communication skills for distilling complex analyses and uncertainty into concise narratives for executive audiences.
  • Proven technical leadership with experience leading critical projects and influencing the work of other contributors.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $164,695 to $339,078 USD for US-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Flexible working model with remote work supported.
  • In-office collaboration required only 1-2 times per quarter.
