Description

  • Lead spam policy development for Pinterest.
  • Create detailed enforcement guidance for Operations teams.
  • Partner with Operations, Product, and Engineering to implement and enforce spam policies at scale.
  • Advise Policy colleagues and cross-functional partners on spam and abuse issues.
  • Monitor industry trends, detection methods, and abuse-fighting tools to stay ahead of bad actors.
  • Investigate emerging abuse campaigns, respond to escalations, and translate findings into durable product or policy improvements.
  • Develop threat-informed taxonomies of spam and abuse and convert them into actionable operational guidance.
  • Review potentially graphic or disturbing content and discuss sensitive subjects when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in policy, law, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in trust and safety or platform integrity policy.
  • Experience developing and enforcing spam, platform integrity, or cybersecurity policies for a global online platform.
  • Deep understanding of coordinated inauthentic behavior, account networks, repeat offenders, evasion tactics, compromised accounts, and content manipulation.
  • Experience with adversarial threat modeling for products, features, APIs, and monetization surfaces.
  • Experience investigating abuse campaigns under time pressure, synthesizing ambiguous signals, and making sound policy decisions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of spam-fighting tools, SQL, automation, APIs, and bot ecosystems.
  • Strong critical-thinking, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and align cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to distinguish legitimate or user-authorized automation from deceptive or malicious bot activity.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $132,298–$272,377 USD for US-based applicants, with eligibility for equity.
  • Flexible work model with in-person collaboration approximately 1–2 times per quarter; the role can be based anywhere in the country.
  • No relocation assistance is provided.
