Description

  • Define and communicate the multi-year machine learning vision, strategy, and investment roadmap for Growth.
  • Lead and grow multiple machine learning teams, including managers and senior/principal engineers.
  • Set priorities for the highest-impact Growth opportunities across acquisition, activation, engagement depth, and retention.
  • Build and maintain a unified ML architecture and roadmap that supports rapid experimentation and scalable production systems.
  • Drive large cross-functional initiatives from ideation through execution in partnership with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Establish success metrics and measurement frameworks for Growth ML systems.
  • Guide foundational investments in feature platforms, training and serving infrastructure, experimentation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure Growth ML systems meet standards for reliability, performance, privacy, and responsible AI.
  • Represent Growth ML in executive forums and company-wide planning conversations.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-accountability community that shares best practices and technical direction.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience as a hands-on engineer and technical leader.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Deep expertise building and operating large-scale machine learning systems in production.
  • Experience with modern ML frameworks such as deep learning, recommendation and ranking systems, reinforcement learning, or generative AI.
  • Demonstrated success in Growth or adjacent areas such as activation funnels, notifications, lifecycle marketing, SEO, paid acquisition, or large-scale consumer engagement.
  • Experience defining and executing multi-year technical strategies and roadmaps across multiple organizations.
  • Strong product sense and ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured ML problems and experiments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants, preferred.
  • Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and workflow acceleration, preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $267,393 to $491,531 USD for US-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-friendly role with in-office collaboration required only 1–2 times every 6 months.
  • Can be situated anywhere in the country.
